Halloween Madness: Dead Barbie Doll [TUTORIAL]

Hey everyone!

This is my first Halloween tutorial.
I had A LOT of fun filming this tutorial. I will be doing more of Halloween tutorials for sure =) I hope you enjoy this =)

It's not probably that visible with the blonde hair and everything but I quite whitened my face :D I mixed my regular day cream with a bit of Kryolan's white Aqua color eyeshadow. Applied that with my fingers all over my face and set with a translucent white powder. No concealer or anything like that.

>>WATCH THE TUTORIAL HERE<<

THE LIST OF PRODUCTS:
Sephora eyeshadow in City Fog
Oriflame Pure Color Palette - the baby blue color
light/baby blue color from an eyeahdow duo by s-he stylezone (I'll add the pic later)
Maybelline eyeshadow in Couture Blue
Kryolan Aqua color in White
Alverde eyeshadow duo Mauve Harmony (the matte white)
Rimmel lip liner in Indian Pink
I mixed 3 off these essence stay all day lip glosses (it was an attempt to create multicolored / ombre lips) but they turned out to look the same color on the lip liner

Small Halloween / Kryolan Haul

Hey everyone!

I did a little Halloween shopping today. I bought a few things I needed for my costume and then I decided to spice up the makeup I'm going to do with some funky eyelashes. I don't have my camera with me right now, so I'll include photos that I found on the internet, but I'll change the pictures once I take better pics.

I bought my absolute favorite powder (obviously not for Halloween purposes, but for everyday use :D). It's the Transparent Powder in TL1.

Then I bought two pairs of false eyelashes. The ones on the first picture are from the Showgirl series and the second ones are underlashes. This my first pair of lashes that are designed for your lower lash line. I used regular top lashes as my bottoms but now I can see that these are much more suitable for the lower lash line. The rims are invisible, which is great, because you're not going to have a black eyeliner on your lash line all the time. Although I'm afraid that once I wear black eyeliner and put the lashes there, the rims are going to get black from it and it won't come off. We'll see. But still, I love them and cannot wait to use them.

I really love the Kryolan products I've tried so far. I should really look into more of their stuff.

Can't wait for Halloween parties! I'm planning to attend two this year. The first one is next Saturday, on 27th, and I'd like to film myself while I do my makeup for the event. I already filmed my first Halloween tutorial, it'll be up tomorrow =) I had a lot of fun filming that one, so I'll definitely film more, even after Halloween.

Stay tuned!

Quick 'n' Pink [TUTORIAL]

Hey everyone =)

I'm here today with another tutorial.
As you probably noticed, pink is not really my fav color :D But this was requested! :D
Hope you enjoy it! =)

THE LIST OF PRODUCTS:
Alverde duo eyeshadow in Mauve Harmony - the matte white on the left
pink/reddish, black from the 120 palette
essence quattro eyeshadow in XOXO - the shimmery white
essence liquid ink eyeliner
Rimmel lipliner in Indian Pink - I have to admit, even though I'm not the biggest fan of pink lips, I like the matte effect the lip liner gives along with the shade of pink.

Autumn: Let's Talk About SPF... Wait... What?

Hey everyone!

Some of you may be asking after seeing the title.. What? SPF? But the summer is long gone..
Yes, the summer may be over but the sun is up in the sky, shining on us and affecting our skin =)

As a huge anti-tan fan, I always try to learn more about how to protect my skin from the sun. It's been a few summers that I engaged in the process of putting sunscreen all over the parts of my body that were going to be revealed. But you shouldn't stop at the end of September, when the summer is "officially" over.

The sun rays are present all the time. Whether it's summer or winter. Of course, using SPF 50 in the winter is kinda useless. And don't be fooled by the clouds. If you think about it, people usually get sunburn in the summer when it's cloudy. I remember one summer a long time ago when my whole family got sunburn because we idiots were lying on the beach when it was cloudy and didn't really think about SPF because you know, it's not that hot = I don't need to protect myself from the sun. WRONG.

Even though the sun rays are significantly weaker during autumn and winter, they still have an impact on our skin. What I would recommend is buying a moisturizer/day cream with SPF 15/10/... Nowadays you can even find foundations / BB creams with SPF. Always find something that works for you, that you know you'll do every time you expose your skin to the sun and doesn't feel like a burden. I got so used to sunscreen that I don't even think about it as an extra step in my routine.

Most of my friends think I'm crazy but right now I don't leave my house without SPF 25 on my face. I have to admit that the reason why I use 25 is that I don't have anything with lower SPF (I only have 25, 30 and 50 :D). And the sunscreens with lower SPF (even the 25) aren't that dense so you can even use it as your "day cream". After I apply my SPF, I go straight to my primer and concealer. If you are going to use both sunscreen and a day cream, make sure to use the sunscreen first, so your skin can react with the product and make a protective layer. Your skin will thank you in a few years =)

Hope this article is going to help some of you to think twice about your skin vs. the sun. We don't want to look like 60 year old wrinkly ladies when we're 45 =)

Wishing you a lovely night (don't forget about SPF tomorrow morning! =) )

Clean Brushes = Better And Healthier Application

Hello everyone =)

I'd like to take a moment and talk about cleaning your makeup brushes. I myself have been struggling when it comes to properly cleaning my brushes. I didn't want to spend money on special cleaners and so I tried the method that I saw on youtube - mix extra virgin olive oil and a detergent so stuff you have lying around in your kitchen. I tried it several times but I hated that method. Not only that it takes a lot of time to clean more brushes, I felt like I couldn't get them reeeally clean... The other thing is that the drying process takes forever and the brushes then were a little fluffier and didn't dry into their original shape and a lot of bristles fell out while cleaning and rinsing. I know I don't have the best quality brushes but I it kinda surprised me..

So I decided to go for the more expensive method but it works amazing for me.

I now use the Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner. I only do one spray for each side of the brush, then I go with the brush on my paper towel to remove the pigments from eyeshadows, eyeliner or anything else I had on my brush. If the brush is really dirty, eyeshadows are easier to clean, thicker consistencies like gel liners are a little harder, obviously, I use another spray of the cleaner. Then I let them dry on the paper towel like that and they are dry in maybe an hour or so, very quickly.
The brushes are very soft and amazing to use then. Mostly I was surprised with how my angled brush felt when I was doing my eyebrows. It was like new.

This bottle contains 60 ml of products so I'm a little afraid that if I don't find another method, it might get a little expensive. But this is the best method I've used so far. I used to use baby wipes for a long time but this works a lot better. You get rid of all the pigments and bacteria and your brushes really do feel like they're new.

You probably ask how often you should do this. I try to clean the brushes that i use every day almost everyday. I mostly don't do eyeshadows if I'm in a hurry so the only brushes that I use are my angled brush for eyebrows and angled blush brush for contouring. You should clean the other brushes mostly when you need to use them for another color. But every week or two, I like to clean all the brushes that I used in that period of time, it depends on how much I've been using my brushes. The pic on the top is from a week ago or so when I did a bigger cleaning, I took all of the brushes that I like using the most and cleaned them.

I know this is not probably going to help a lot of you because it's always easy to just buy a cleaner and not deal with alternative methods, I just wanted this article to remind you that you SHOULD clean your brushes =) I know it's something that a lot of us put off doing and I don't blame you, I forget/get lazy myself :D

That's all from me now,
I hope you're having a great day =)

Maybelline's Concealer DID FITme!

Hey everyone,

I'm here with a small article about this amazing concealer that I discovered thanks to Marlena from MakeUpGeek. She did a review on youtube and I was happy to find the concealer in my drugstore.

The first thing that I have to say is that I love that the lightest shade fit my pale complexion. I bought number 15.
Second of all, I just love the texture. It doesn't feel heavy, glides on much easier than the one by essence, which was basically the only concealer I used frequently before, and also the coverage is very nice and it doesn't look cakey at all.

I apply it under the eyes, on the lids, up to the eyebrows, on my nose, around my nose and my mouth.  I did that at 6AM and now it's 5PM and my skin still looks nice and fresh, not cakey or blotchy. I didn't use foundation under or over it, I just set it with translucent powder.

The concealer wasn't even that expensive so yay for good prices and great quality =)

That is all from me, if you've tried this concealer, write down in the comments whether you liked it =)

Have an awesome day,
Lena
